Still looking for a New Year's resolution? Volunteering is a way to help better yourself by helping others.

There are many organizations where you can volunteer your time and talent right here in Western New York.

The Buffalo City Mission serves the homeless with food and shelter. The city mission served 179,000 meals last year and impacted 80-thousand with safe nights of sleep.

Sue Cervi, manager of volunteers, says during the holidays there's an influx of volunteers ready to give their time, but after the season is over the organization is in need of help.

"365 days of caring giving and a heart and to say we can make a difference," Cervi said.

Catherine Shick, Public and Community Relations Manager, says the Food Bank of WNY distributes more than 13 million pounds of food because of volunteers.
