Niagara Wine Trail USA started in 2002 with only two local wineries as members. Today all 22 local wineries are members including other local businesses like hotels and restaurants.

Harvest Festival kicks off the fall season with three wine tastings and food pairing at participating wineries.

"About 500 guests enjoy the area, the tourists attractions and take advantage of the beautiful harvest," said Catherine Banks executive director of Niagara Wine Trail USA.

Tickets are $30 pre-sale, which can be bought online. The festival runs September 25-27.

Spring Lakes Winery on Rochester Road in Lockport is taking part in the festival's event weekend featuring their Vineyard Express. Guests will ride a train along the canal through vineyards, taste wine, eat fall festive foods and enjoy live entertainment.

Tickets for the Vineyard Expresscost $69 for a full day of touring and are available for purchase online.

Spring Lakes Winery will be featuring wine made with grapes nearly 100-years-old. You'll also get the chance to taste their award winning Madeline Minx white wine.

Tamre Varallo the owner of Spring Lakes said being a part of a large network of wineries has helped her business boom.

"Our weddings have grown from 15 last year to 30 this year," said Varallo. "So we decided to build a pavilion to host those weddings more effectively."

They also book parties for business, wedding showers and more. Varallo said the winery's contact list has grown tremendously within the last year up from 8,000 to 18,000.
