BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — After reading about the disturbing animal abuse in Lockport, pledges are piling up for a reward for information on the suspect. Two small dogs- a terrier and a pug were found burned and beaten to death in garbage bags on the side of Wilson Road in Lockport last Thursday.

"It's not like any dog can say 'Oh he or she hit me, or please help me or please don't do that," Yeclaira McAllister said. McAllister pledge to donate $5,000 or more if she needs to for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who are involved.

McAllister grew up in Youngstown and now lives in Seattle, Washington. She says she read the story online and could barley sleep after reading what happened tho the dogs.

"I wanted to give a generous amount because someone needs to speak," McAllister added.

McAllister is not alone, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office is working with the Erie County Crimestoppers to set up a fund for a reward. As of right now, people and organizations have pledged more than $8,000.

"Money talks," Stefanie Heath, Co-owner of Syracuse Pit Crew, a non-profit pet rescue said. "We know if we can offer a significant amount of money that it is an incentive for people to come forward and talk about it."

From miles away and at home-- local families and organizations have also donated money for a reward.

"I think more than anything we would love to see the perpetrator brought to justice," Heath added. "For this particular case and we would really like to raise the bar and awareness around animal abuse and that this is a real issue."

The Sheriff's office says it has no suspects at this time. If you have any information about this case, you can call 716-438-3327.
