BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A missing child taken from West Virginia by her mother has been located in Western New York by U.S. Marshals.
In March the U.S. Marshals Service said 35-year-old Adrienne Grace Marean was charged by police in West Virginia for allegedly violating a family court order. Marean had been ordered to transfer custody of eleven-month-old Iris Chidester in February 2022 but allegedly fled with the child.
After an investigation, it was determined that Marean was residing in Western New York.
The U.S. Marshals provided an update Thursday and said Marean was apprehended and Chidester was safely recovered in Stockton.
This case led investigators to numerous states and even into Canada. The safe recovery of this child is a direct result of non-stop investigative efforts coupled with the interstate collaboration of federal, state, and local authorities.
