BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It was in the midst of a blizzard and dangerously cold temperatures, when we all learned first hand the brutal and tragic reality facing Western New York's homeless population.

A homeless man, well-known to the Williamsville community, froze to death in the early morning hours. He was known as Larry to many. His full name was Lawarence Bierl.

Now, a local printing company is helping raise money in Larry's memory, in hopes of preventing future such tragedies.

For a limited time, Park Avenue Imprints is selling, "One Life Lost is Too Many" t-shirts and sweatshirts to benefit the local homeless community. According to organizers, 100% of the proceeds will go to Code Blue services through the WNY Coalition for the Homeless.

“These shirts will be an important piece of our awareness program. This is Buffalo and this weather will happen again,” said Jean Bennett, Director of Housing and Homeless Services Restoration Society, “The funds raised through the shirt sale will be used specifically for Code Blue which provides a safe place to stay, meals, and linkages to much needed services.”
