Buffalo has a few abandoned buildings, but what may seem like an eyesore for some is actually gold for developers.

"You end up delivering a lot more unique experience to individuals as far as their living conditions that you can't get if you start from scratch" KCG Companies president R.J. Pasquesi said.

Pasquesi and KCG are currently reconstructing the old Atlantic and Pacific building to turn it into 147 new apartments call the AP Lofts. The lofts are intended to open in July.

This trend of redeveloping old buildings and making them into new apartments is something developers are beginning to latch onto.

"You can't replicate a building like (the AP Lofts). The fabric of it, the uniqueness of it, the history it" Pasquesi said.
