The Lackawanna Library will reap the benefits of a $34 million dollar capital funding plan for library construction aid included in the state budget.

According to Assemblyman Sean Ryan, $150,000 of the funding will go to current repairs.

The New York State budget included $96.6 million dollars in general library funding as well as the 34 million dollar capital funding plan. $1.5 million of the 34 million dollar capital funding plan is expected to come to Western New York this year.

The library's renovations are expected to be completed by its 100th anniversary in 2022.
