Jim Kelly discharged from hospital

Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Jim Kelly is now out of the hospital after a recent oral cancer surgery.

Kelly's wife, Jill, posted on Instagram Saturday evening with a picture that shows the couple leaving a New York City hospital where Kelly has been recovering for the past several weeks.

 

With a swollen smile, and a cane in his hand he was DISCHARGED from the hospital today! Praise the LORD! So THANKFUL for Dr. Mark Urken, his team, and the rest of the amazing Mount Sinai staff. The recovery continues here in NYC for the next two weeks. Then back to BUFFALO! One day at a time. One prayer at a time. All in God’s perfect timing! Thank you for praying!!

Jill Kelly thanks Jim's doctor in the post who spoke earlier this week about Kelly's incredible recovery. Kelly's doctor, Mark Urken at Mount Sinai West, released the following statement Saturday:

“Mr. Kelly was discharged from the hospital today after an extremely favorable recovery. The speed of that process, considering the extensive nature of his surgery, was a function of his toughness, the firmness of his resolve, his faith and the support of his family. All of those factors will continue to serve him well as he moves on to the next phase of his rehabilitation.”

Kelly will remain in New York City for the next two weeks as he continues to recover from his oral cancer surgery.
