The Christmas season is the prime season for crooks who will lift your gift packages right off your front porch!
Law enforcement agencies across New York are warning people this season to make sure you don't have packages delivered and left on your front step when you're not home. With the explosion of online shopping, all those packages are now delivered to your home and thieves are watching, driving up and down residential streets on the lookout for a quick grab.
Police suggest that if you are not going to be home for deliveries then you should arrange for a neighbor who is home to take receipt for you. Another idea is to have your packages delivered to your workplace if that's allowed by your employer.
