The ice storm that impacted WNY throughout Saturday evening and Sunday morning is beginning to exit the area.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo reports as of 1:20 p.m. Sunday the Ice Storm Warning has been canceled for all of Western New York.

With the tail end of precipitation hugging the Lake Ontario shoreline, the storm will continue to move north and exit the area around midday. The temperature, which is now above freezing, will continue to increase with a daytime high near 50.

With the temperature increasing, the recovery from the storm has begun.

City of Buffalo Officials say plows spent the morning salting and treating the roads, but still urge residents to use caution.

Buffalo's Forestry Department reports there were only two calls for downed trees, both occurred Saturday afternoon and they have been addressed.

Buffalo's Department of Public Works reports that two street lights fell during the storm, one at Broadway and Fillmore Avenues and the other at William and Krettner Streets. Crews will replace those lights.

Officials also say no injuries have been reported at this time.

As of 2:00 p.m. Sunday, NYSEG's website reports just 19 customers without power in Western New York.

As of the same time, National Grid reports 144 customers in Orleans County, 142 customers in Niagara County, and 76 customers in Genesee County without power.

Outage restoration estimates range from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

"We've got people out working on it," National Grid Spokesperson David Bertola said. "If that's what it says, that is accurate."

Bertola also said National Grid was prepared for much worse.

"Whether you're one person without power or 15,000, you never want to be either group, we know it's an inconvenience," Bertola said. "But when you see these numbers, as they are right now, that can happen with a distribution line during a really nice weather day.

"These are things we would have crews and other contractors out addressing issues as they happen, so it's like a regular day of work in a way, because this is what we prepare for and what we do."

The travel advisories that were in place for Erie County and Niagara Counties have been lifted.

The travel advisory for Genesee County is still in place.
