Cover those turkey legs as you run down Delaware Avenue Thursday!

This year's Turkey Trot is poised to be a cold one! In fact, this year's Thanksgiving is forecasted to be the coldest in years!

You'll be racing in temperatures in the upper teens to start. In other words, layer up!

The sunshine won't warm your shoulders up much either. By the time you're playing football before the big meal, temperatures will be in the low to mid-20s.

The last time the Buffalo Airport hit a high of 24F on Thanksgiving was back in 2000. The average high on Thanksgiving Day is 44F, according to the National Weather Service.

The airport did make it up to 27F five years ago in 2013.

Runners can pick up their packets Monday at the YMCA in Amherst from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

14-thousand runners are expected to lace-up their sneakers for the 8k race happening Thanksgiving morning.
