Hilbert College is taking steps to improve campus safety following the arrest of a freshman who allegedly had a list of students he planned to "make disappear."

The college announced Monday a review of safety procedures resulted in immediate enhancements in policy around notifying students.

Beginning Monday, if faculty is notified of a campus incident or report, students will be notified simultaneously.

Administration is also considering a series of student suggestions about how and when to communicate about safety issues.

The college says plans are underway to initiate additional training for faculty, student services staff and athletics staff before the start of the next academic year.
