On Thursday, November 8th, first year Niagara County Community College nursing student Sarie Muscarella turned a hall corner and found one of the school's employees on the ground. She checked his pulse. There wasn't one.

She immediately jumped into action and, using the tools she has gained as a nursing student, administered CPR to the man until more help arrived with an automated external defibrillator (AED). Muscarella acting quickly actually saved the man's life.

"I just didn't think too much into it and I just went and saved his life" Muscarella said.

Thursday morning, Muscarella was honored by NCCC for her quick thinking during the time.

The employee is reportedly returning to work next week.
