Help tidy up Kenmore during 8th annual Big Cleanup

The Kenmore Village Improvement Society will host its 8th annual Big Kenmore Cleanup today!

At 9 a.m. volunteers of any age are asked to meet at the Village Green, where Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road meet in the Village of Kenmore. Here, they will receive assignments.

Volunteers will pick up trash and sweep up on:

• Delaware Road
• Delaware Avenue
• Elmwood Avenue
• Military Road
• Kenmore Avenue
• Mang Park

Organizers will provide trash bags and disposable gloves, but volunteers are encouraged to bring:

• Work gloves
• Brooms
• Blowers
• Gardening tools

Event sponsor Colvin Cleaners will provide $10 gift cards to those helping hands. Student volunteers can also earn community service hours. 

“It is so heartwarming to see so many people, especially young people, turn out each year to help care for our village,” Foster said. “It is a joy to live in such a caring community," said Kenmore Village Improvement Society President Melissa Foster.
