Going from sadness to action: Buffalo church looks to inspire gun control change

A candlelight vigil to commemorate the students lost to gun violence was held at St. Paul's cathedral. Dozens were in attendance to show their support. 

"We must do something to protect our children, our students, and our schools" Bishop William Franklin said. 

Rachel Dominguez was one mother who spoke at the vigil. The entire evening hit close to home for her as she is seeing how gun violence has affected her son. 

"I'm tired of him knowing what a lockdown drill is and participating in them as regularly as a fire drill" Dominguez said.

The vigil was accompanied with performances and a number of speeches. Those who were in attendance are hoping this will be a positive step towards change. 

"We must go from sadness to prayer to action" Bishop Franklin said.
