Gas prices across Western New York continue to rise ahead of Memorial Day.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), gas prices in Western New York now average $2.96 per gallon. That's a seven-cent increase since last week. AAA says neighbors in Western New York were paying an average of $2.50 at the pump at this time last year.

Gas prices at the pump in New York are averaging $3.07 a gallon.

According to AAA, rising crude costs, tighter supplies and robust gasoline demand continue to lift gas prices across Western New York and the nation.
