Plug your ears! The 11-story former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital will be imploded on October 3rd at 7 a.m.
Representatives from Montante Construction are in the process of going door-to-door to provide information about the implosion and answer any questions residents may have about the event.
In addition, an informational session will be held next week for area residents.
TM Montante Development is working to redevelop the vacant former hospital site into a mixed-use district that will include a small grocery store, a health and wellness center, residential apartments and condominiums, office space, and small retail shops.
“We’re going to open up the site and bring together residents from adjacent neighborhoods, all while creating attractive new public spaces,” said TM Montante Development president Christian Campos. “This is a critical and exiting milestone in the site’s physical transformation into a vibrant mixed-use urban district.”
According to OSC, the company Montante Construction has hired to carry out the implosion, the tower should collapse in a matter of seconds.
OSC has significant experience in building implosions throughout Western New York. The last building the company imploded in the City of Buffalo was a 100,000-square foot medical office building on High Street in 2007.
