Talisa King had a scary diagnosis about 7 years ago.

“I couldn’t feed myself, I couldn’t tie my own shoes, I couldn’t walk by myself and do daily activities,” she said.

She was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.

Then did what we all would do…took to Google.

But, the problem was: she couldn’t find anyone like her for miles.

About 6 hours actually. King said the closest advocacy groups were in Westchester county.

“I just vowed to myself that once my condition became stable, if there was still no change at that point, that I would be the change that I wanted to see.”

She did just that.

This weekend, September 22 will be the first Buffalo Walk to Cure Arthritis.

While most chapters have a year to put this together, King did it in just 2 months.

Hergoal is to raise $6,000 by the end of this weekend.
