Neighbors on West Toulon Drive in Cheektowaga woke up to sewage flooding their street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning.  Many of those neighbors then had to watch their basements fill with the unsanitary water.

For Cherie Noah, losing thousands of dollars worth of monetary things wasn't ideal, but losing precious mementos, such as her son's baby book, is heart wrenching.

"I shouldn't have to live like this, this is part of my home," she said.

Bob and Cherie Noah continue to clean up the mess Monday with Cherie having to take off of work. Baseball gloves, toys and boxes littered their front lawn waiting to be cleaned.

For Bob, he knew the risks when finishing his basement a a few months ago because he lived in the same home growing up.  It's been a while since the last major flood happened on the street, so he didn't think twice about remodeling.

Just down the street, neighbor Ashley Bohin was experiencing the same ordeal.

"I had a little over four and one half feet of water at my garage and two and one half of feet in my house," Bohin recalled.  She lost close to $15,000 worth of things included clothing, a water heater and furniture.

About 80 homes were damaged by the Saturday morning flooding, according to Cheektowaga Highway Supervisor Mark Wegner.  Bulldozers were sent out Monday afternoon to pick up trash and debris.  They will return to pick up more things this week.

Both the Noahs and Bohin agree, they will not be trying to fix their basements anytime soon.
