Epic fireworks show on tap across the border

Take your average fireworks display, multiply it by about 100, and you'll be getting close to an epic show set to happen north of the border later this year.

For the first time ever, Niagara Falls, Ontario will play host to the Cascades of Fire International Fireworks Competition. The show will be the signature event of the Winter Festival of Lights.

Cascades of Fire will feature 18 minute fireworks displays synchronized to music.

Competitors will be coming from China, Finland, Italy, Vietnam, Brazil with a special finale presented by Team Canada.

The Winter Festival of Lights runs from November 3 thru January 31.  The fireworks competition will be presented over six weekend nights on November 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. All shows start at 9:00pm.

• November 10 - Team Finland                   
• November 11 - Team Brazil                      
• November 16 - Team Vietnam                
• November 17 - Team Italy                         
• November 18 - Team Canada Finale
