The former Kensington Heights housing complex in Buffalo has a new owner.
Erie County Medical Center purchased the property for $1.4 million. The corporation says it has had interest in Kensington Heights since the property was made public a few months ago.
ECMC is working with NYSDEC to prepare the property for future use. That will start with the demolition of the remaining structure on the site.
In the coming year, the medical center will be cleaning the property and then working with the community to come up with a desired future development plan.
