Western New York is a special place to live when it comes to traditions. In fact, Buffalo was just named one of the best places to celebrate Easter in the U.S.

And in the days leading up to Easter, thousands of people visit The Broadway Market to pick up items to place in their Easter Baskets. From holiday polish sausage to horseradish, it's all on display at The Broadway Market. However, it's not just about butter lambs and pierogis!

There are other traditions in Western New York that people do that are unique. The Basillica out in Lackawanna will be blessing baskets Saturday at 1 p.m. and a Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. Right around the corner, The Botanical Gardens will have an Easter Egg Hunt from 11am-4pm. You walk inside, it's a colorful display of Easter Lilies!

A block away from the Broadway Market, Corpus Chrisit Church is another place to get your basket blessed. Blessings begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

And with the end of lent comes Dyngus Day! The boys chase around the girls with pussy willows and the ladies strike back with squirt guns. Don't know why Anderson Cooper would giggle at such a thing.

Live polka, food, drinks...It's all in the forecast for on Monday. For a complete list of activities, you can visit Buffalo's Official Dyngus Day website.

If you're looking for a warm-up celebration, what's dubbed as "World's Shortest Dyngus Day Parade", will be outside the Basillica held after mass at around 12:30 p.m. One of the world's biggest Dyngus Day Parades will be held in the Polonia District, starting at 5 p.m. in the Polonia District just outside the Corpus Christi Church.

We will have our own Dyngus Day Special, Dyngus Day Diary: From Polonia With Love right here on WKBW from 7-7:30 p.m.
