Butterwood Sweet and Savory Restaurant, one of several dining spots that had been on the menu at the renovated Hotel Lafayette in Downtown Buffalo, has served its final meal.

The restaurant is closing its doors after three years in business at the corner of Clinton and Ellicott. All decor, bakery and restaurant equipment will be auctioned off on April 20 at 10 a.m.

According to the restaurant's Facebook page, all gift certificates, Groupon coupons and Living Social coupons will be honored at Brioso by Butterwood on Main Street in Williamsville.

The space is not expected to remain empty for long. The owners of Butterwood Sweet and Savory say they are working on a concept and menu change for the location.

"The new dining concept will still include an emphasis on our one-of-a-kind desserts. We expect this process to take a few months and we look forward to reintroducing the restaurant, located in the historic Hotel Lafayette, to the Buffalo dining community in spring 2016," reads a statement on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The Butterwood Bakery will stay open during the transitional period. Anyone with questions can call 716-652-0131 extension 111 or 106.
