Buffalo's popular Canalside Concert Series could be on the move.
“We've been talking about all sorts of places. The most obvious one is the Outer Harbor,” said Jonathan Dandes with Canalside Buffalo.
With more and more construction and less and less green space at Canalside, it would be less accommodating for a big crowd.
“If a certain level of an event came in, only so many people can get here. You can't put 20,000 people at Canalside. It's just not big enough,” said Matt LaSota, the general manager of Canalside.
Organizers understand the Outer Harbor would need a lot of work before making a switch.
“It's all about customer and guest safety and experience. Getting in and out is an issue. Having enough bathrooms is an issue,” said Dandes.
When would the move happen? That's unclear.
“There's no plan to take these shows out of Canalside, until we need to,” said LaSota.
“While it's not ready right now. Next year or the year after could very well be the case,” said Dandes.
Organizers insist a move is only in the preliminary planning stages.
