A long-time popular restaurant in Genesee County known for its prime rib is being sold after 36 years in business.
The owners of Red Osier Landmark Restaurant in Stafford, Bob and Noreen Moore, are retiring and plan to sell their business. They’re hoping an experienced restaurant operator will purchase the well-known fixture and keep it operating.
The Moores opened Red Osier in 1979 and have worked together every day since. They’ve raised two sons in the restaurant and have been married for 52 years.
"We are incredibly grateful to our employees, many of whom we consider our extended family, our loyal customers and the community for their support, friendship and patronage over the years," said Bob. "But after 36 years in business and 52 years of a happy marriage, it is time for Noreen and me to enjoy our retirement with our family."
According to the Moores, they served 18 dinners the first Sunday they were in business. Now they serve around 1,500 each week and go through one-ton of beef.
