Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village is transforming into a maple celebration March 24 and 25. The historical site will have a "lumberjack breakfast", tree tapping, maple candy making and many other activities for NYS Maple Weekend.

There are historical displays highlighting the long tradition of maple syrup making in Western New York, dating back to early Native Americans.

The program is inside and outside, with tree tapping opportunities, live animals, hay rides and maple candy making.

The lumberjack breakfast includes pancakes, maple syrup (of course), sausage, eggs, fruit cocktail and cold and hot drinks. They'll have maple flavored coffee available as well.

Visitors can also check out a home brewing demonstration involving maple sap and locally sourced ingredients. New York Beer Project will also be selling a maple flavored beer at the event.

The breakfast is served from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. both days.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for kids and children under three can attend for free. Tickets for just programming (no lumberjack breakfast) are $8. For more information click here.
