New businesses are popping up all around Buffalo. According to a study by LendingTree that came out Thursday, the queen city ranked second in young entrepreneur population among the country's 50 largest cities.

Two new business owners, Eddie Fibich and Camille Le Caer have taken notice.

"“We are definitely a wave, for younger [people]," Le Caer said.

“Everything was just kinda dark and grey, no one really wanted to come here and now it’s like this is our canvas, we get to create what we want to see in this place," Fibich said.

Le Caer opened Pastry by Camille on Hertel Avenue next to the North Park Theater just recently. Fibich's Dark Horse Studio in the Brisbane building in the heart of downtown has been in business for just about a year. Both owners agreed that hard work and planning was the most important part of getting to where they are today.

“I also work more hours than anyone else I know that has an employer," Fibich said.

“I don’t make money, I’m working almost 20 hour days  and I don’t think anything is gonna change for the next few years," Le Caer said. “It’s insane, sometimes it doesn't feel real you gotta make sure you keep the foot on the ground.”
