Several members of the Buffalo Bisons along with team mascot Buster, were on-hand Saturday morning to play baseball with the Miracle League in Grand Island.

The Miracle League is an organization in Western New York that provides children with mental and/or physical challenges the ability to play baseball. With a specially designed turf field that accommodates wheelchairs, crutches and walkers, the Miracle League makes dreams come true for many different children.

Sarah Gruszka's daughter Dawn participates in the Miracle League.  Sarah has loved to see her daughter grow over the past few years.

"Four years ago she was hitting with the tee and now she's hitting without," Gruszka said.  "It means so much, to me as a mom, to be able to see her grow and grow with her friends, the other players."

Brad Brisbing, the director of public relations for the Bisons, spent the day at the ball park.  He says the players love to play with the Miracle League and look forward to this event every summer.

"[Baseball] is not only their jobs, but it's obviously their passion," Brisbing said.  "To be able to share what they're so passionate about, the game of baseball, with kids that are playing for the sheer love of it.  It's awesome."

Bisons pitchers Colt Hynes, Daniel Barnes and John Anderson helped make the day extra special for the kids.
