A Buffalo Police source told 7 Eyewitness News a body discovered on Willert Park Court was that of 33-year-old David Dickens-Anderson.

7 Eyewitness News spoke to family members at the scene where the body was discovered. They said Dickens-Anderson was a father of three. They also said they have no idea what happened to him. They believe he was liked and respected in the community, and had no history of leaving without notice.

Dickens-Anderson was last seen September 27, according to family and friends. Buffalo Police had issued a missing person alert for him earlier this month.

A spokesman for the department said the body was discovered around 1 p.m on Sunday.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Erie County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. The source said the body appeared to have been there for awhile. So, it's also being sent to forensics for positive identification.
