Pope Francis will arrive in the United States on Tuesday and Bishop Richard Malone is among those from Western New York getting ready for the historic visit. "I'm as excited as everyone else is," said Bishop Malone on Monday.

Bishop Malone will travel to Washington D.C., New York City and Philadelphia for events being attended by the Pope. He believes Pope Francis' popularity has increased the excitement of this visit well past the Catholic community.

"He's given a warm, welcoming, gracious face to the Catholic Church. People are watching this pope," said Bishop Malone. "He just has a way through word and gesture. If I had a problem on my mind I could sit down with this man."

On Wednesday Bishop Malone will be in the nation's Capital where Pope Francis will address U.S. bishops. On Friday he will be in attendance for the Papal Mass at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia Bishop Malone will take part in the World Meeting of Families.
