Leslie Finch, the woman accused of killing her infant daughter, is back in jail after her bail was revoked.

Finch, 24, of Kill Buck is charged with second degree manslaughter, first degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of her daughter, 1-year-old Mila Whipple.

Mila was flown to Women and Children’s Hospital by Mercy Flight from a home on Broad Street on April 24. She died two days later from severe injuries that hospital staff say they were caused by abuse.

Finch was charged in May and released from the Cattaraugus County Jail on bail, but her bail has been revoked after the man who put up his home to get Finch out of jail was charged with second degree insurance fraud.

Harry Scull of Great Valley was arrested on September 8. Deputies charged the 41-year-old with insurance fraud over a fire that leveled a home on Buffalo Road in the Town of Allegany on April 6.

As it turns out, the home that burned on April 6 is the same one that was being used as collateral in Finch’s bail. When the bail company found out, Finch’s bail was revoked and she was taken to jail.

It is unclear if Scull will face any charges in this latest incident. You can read more about the fire in the Olean Times Herald.

Unless she is released from jail on bail again, Leslie Finch will remain behind bars until her next court date on November 2.
