A Buffalo babysitter is accused of sexually abusing and producing child pornography, using a little girl he was supposed to protect.
Duke Jimenez, 33, could face 30 years in prison on the federal child porn charges.
Officials say this aspect of the investigation came to light following Jimenez's arrest in September of 2015 by Buffalo Police when he was charged with child sex abuse.
Investigators say he was sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl he had been babysitting since 2012.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, interviews with the victim's brother and victim's aunt, who Jimenez was dating at the time, revealed suspicious incidents involving the suspect and the young victim.
On March 10th, Buffalo Police obtained a search warrant for Jimenez's cell phone. Investigators say they found 14 images of child porn, all depicting the young victim.
Jimenez has been detained pending a detention heading on March 24th.
