An affair triggered a shooting two years ago that has landed a Buffalo man a 13 and a half years prison sentence.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Isaiah Cormack, 29, confronted Brendan Crawford, 26, about an affair with his wife at a house party on Orange Street on November 15, 0214.

Officials say Cormack shot Crawford in the stomach. The bullet went through Crawford's abdomen, came out, went through his elbow and went into a wall.

DA Michael Flaherty, Jr. says Crawford was hospitalized for more than a month while he underwent four surgeries.

Cormack fled after the shooting and was arrested a week later when he drove his car into a pond in Cheektowaga, according to officials.

The DA says Cormack was found guilty of assault in a non-jury trial.

Cormack also faces five years post-release supervision after his time in prison.
