Reese Witherspoon. Debra Messing. Jane Fonda.

They're just a few of the sixteen actresses who want Governor Andrew Cuomo to to raise the wage paid to tipped workers in New York state.

They've all signed onto a letter, stating that workers who rely on tips are often forced to endure widespread sexual harassment.

The full list of the actresses who signed the letter is:

  • Lily Tomlin
  • Jane Fonda
  • Rashida Jones
  • Amy Poehler
  • America Ferrera
  • Jessica Chastain
  • Natalie Portman
  • Amber Tamblyn
  • Brie Larson
  • Debra Messing
  • Michelle Williams
  • Reese Witherspoon
  • Erika Alexander
  • Ashley Judd
  • Sarah Silverman

This push comes as Cuomo's administration looks into whether to eliminate the subminimum wage that restaurant servers and other workers who make tips are paid. The governor has called for hearings on the matter to be held around the state.
