The Erie County Sheriff's Office is investigating more than a dozen car thefts and acts of vandalism in Elma.

Police say 14 cars were broken into and some had their tires slashed on North Star, Winspear and Bartlett Roads.  The break-ins happened from Saturday to Monday.  Many of the cars were locked.  Cash, wallets, credit cars, keys, sunglasses and medical equipment were stolen from the cars.

The latest rash of break-ins comes more than a week after police investigated nearly a dozen other car larcenies.

The Sheriff's Office wants to remind people to take their valuables out of their cars.  If you know anything about what happened you're asked to contact them at )716) 858-2903.
