10 ways to save at the Erie County Fair

August 9th is opening day for the Erie County Fair, and there are deals and discounts you can hop on this year. 

Fast facts: 

  • Regular daily admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors (age 60 and up).
  • Fair hours: August 9th, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. & August 10th - 20th, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Check out the 10 best ways to save money at this year's Fair: 

  1. Save at the gate -- Purchase admission vouchers at Tops Friendly Markets now through August 8. The cost lowers to $7 per adult and $5 per senior. 
  2. Kids enter at no cost -- Children 12 and under are always free at the Fair.
  3. Get in free with Food Bank donations -- Fairgoers will gain free admission on opening day with a donation of a canned food item.
  4. As seen on TV -- Channel 7 Day is Tuesday, August 15th and admission is $5 all day. Stop by and meet your favorite personalities.
  5. More tickets, more rides -- You can purchase a Strates Shows Fun Card with 70 ride credits for $23 available at ecfair.org until August 8th.
  6. Thank you to those who serve -- All firefighters and auxiliary members receive free admission with proper ID on August 11th. Veterans and active military with proper ID enter free on August 13th.
  7. The early bird gets the worm -- Arrive before 11 a.m. on August 11th or between August 14th and 18th and get into the Fair for $5.
  8. Students get schooled on savings -- Students with proper school ID and ages 13-22 can enter for $5 everyday after 5 p.m.
  9. Come hungry -- On August 14th, over 100 vendors will be offering food items for just $2.
  10. Feel the music -- There will be two free Gusto Grandstand Concerts on August 10th featuring The Bellamy Brothers and John Conlee. Friday, August 11th will feature Mr. Speed, the "World's Best KISS Tribute Band."

County Fair gates close on Sunday, August 20th.
