One in three adults has prediabetes, and 90% of them don’t know it because there aren’t always symptoms.
A simple blood sugar test can show prediabetes, but too few people are having it done. Prediabetes can progress to type 2 diabetes and increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and blindness.
If you’re overweight, have a sibling with type 2 diabetes, or if you aren’t physically active, ask your doctor to test your blood sugar level. Prediabetes is serious, common, and reversible.
