Salvatore (Sonny) Favata was recently diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS.

MDS is a type of cancer in which the body cannot produce red blood cells or platelets due to a defect in the bone marrow.

Sonny is being treated by Roswell Park Cancer Institute to receive weekly blood transfusions and platelets to keep his body functioning along with chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, the chemotherapy has not reversed this syndrome and he needs a bone marrow transplant.   Due to his diagnoses Sonny can’t work.  All proceeds from the meat raffle will help with Sonny’s medication costs.

The Meat Raffle is taking place Friday, August 17th at the American Legion Post 622 located at 962 Wehrle Drive in Williamsville.

Doors open at 6pm and the first spin is at 7pm.  Admission is $8.  There will also be a Chinese auction.
