GlassFest is a four-day celebration of glass in downtown Corning, NY featuring hot glass demonstrations, artists, vendors, live music entertainment, huge fireworks display and businesses promotions throughout the Gaffer District.
It is a wonderful four-day event that is free to the public.
GlassFest kicks off on Thursday night May 23rd with a Glass Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held at the Corning Museum of Glass featuring live glassmaking, music entertainment, food, and drink.
Friday begins with outdoor Hot glass demos in Centerway Square and ends with the opening of Rock the Park concert in Riverfront Park featuring the winner of our local Battle of the Bands and The Town Pants.
Saturday and Sunday Market Street is closed to car traffic and the streets come alive with fine and fired artists, food vendors, family activities, children's activities and Rock the Park featuring a variety of live music. Saturday night and Sunday will feature the 1st and 2nd runner's up from our local Battle of the Bands opening up for Sway, Andy Hilfiger's band. Sunday is also a day we honor our veterans with a Field of flags and a ceremony with a reading of the name of our local veterans who are no longer with us.
