On a recent warm evening, my neighbor, Tim and I paddled our kayaks from the boat launch in Erie Basin Marina out to the North breakwater. We encountered many birds at the north end of the breakwater where the sand and gravel has built up on the lee side. The location also gave a great view of downtown buildings, the Peace Bridge and the Steel Winds windmills.
