Jeremy Nowak Among 35 Semifinalists For 2010 Tino Martinez Division II National Player Of The Year
Mount Olive College outfielder/relief pitcher Jeremy Nowak is among 35 semifinalists for the 2010 Tino Martinez Division II Baseball Player of the Year Award, it was announced Monday by Ping Baseball. Both Nowak and Trojan designated hitter Mike Knox were included in the initial list of candidates.

Nowak, a senior from Cheektowaga, N.Y., was the 2010 Conference Carolinas Baseball Co-Player of the Year. Nowak leads the nation with a school record 99 hits and is one of only two players ranked in the top 11 in all three triple crown categories. His .469 batting average is the ninth highest in the nation, he ranks fourth with 81 runs batted in and 11th with 17 home runs. Nowak began the season with a 35-game hitting streak, the second longest hitting streak in NCAA II baseball history to start a season and tied for the 12th longest hitting streak overall.

On the mound, Nowak is 1-0 with two saves and no runs allowed in seven appearances, all in relief. He has 12 strikeouts and three walks in 6 1/3 innings pitched

In his softmore year at Stony Brook in LI he was named in the top 50 of the nation to be the "show stopper of the year" Hes a power switch hitter that tops out throwing at 95 MPH.
