A fire began in the Barker Commons apartment building on E Main St in downtown Fredonia. It quickly spread and consumed most of the building. The building was mostly occupied by students of SUNY Fredonia. I arrived on the scene shortly after I heard the sirens go by. The entire block was sectioned off by police. Spectators and residents watched as fire fighters tried to contain the flames from both sides of the building.
