Even if you haven’t heard this title before, you know the music. Gershwin songs such as “I Got Rhythm” and “Someone To Watch Over Me” are only two of the many tunes you will instantly recognize. The show is completely entertaining, with fabulous song, dance, and hilarious dialogue throughout.
It is a tale of boy meets girl, east meets west, glamorous New York City meets the gritty Wild West town of Deadrock, Nevada. Bobby Child is a rich city boy who dreams of being a Broadway star. Bobby falls for spunky country girl, Polly Baker when he is sent to Deadrock on a banking errand for his bossy mom. Dancing showgirls, Wild West cowboys, mistaken identity, a surly saloon owner, and a pampered fiancé are just a few of the things that mix together as the plot unfolds. Putting on a “Zangler Follies” show in order to save the Gaiety Theater in Deadrock proves to be comical, challenging, and romantic!!
