A success story:
My Vet called me one morning. She had been called out to a horse boarding place concerning a llama the SPCA had sent her to see..The owners knew nothing of Llamas and are willing to give him to someone who does she says...But he's in really bad shape she says...I was there in minutes. This little brown llama with his wool falling off from mites. His teeth so long he was unable to eat,so under weight we wheren't sure we would be able to treat him..was scared to death...He had a name so long and complicated for such a little guy..And because I would have to take all that wool off to treat his skin We named him SamsonII!The Vet and I accessed his condition and what was most important at that moment and the rest would have to wait till he was strong enough "his teeth" and the "wool off" heat was a big issue..
After weeks of building him up and treating him he was ready for the next step gelding him...Then Adoption to a new forever home..
SamsonII now lives with 3 other Llamas & many other kids of animals on a large farm in Wyoming County NY We have Currently six more rescues five of witch have new adoptive homes. We have one still in need.
