The Eta Rho Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will be hosting a penny drive, Precious Pennies on January 18, 2010 in an effort to contribute to the Haitian relief.
Volunteers will be collecting spare change for 7 minutes at the corner of Kensington and Bailey Avenue beginning at exactly 4:53 pm. The time frame was chosen as it coincides with the time the earthquake hit on January 12 and is symbolic of how much can be done, good or bad, in a small span of time.
All money collected will be divided evenly between Yéle Haiti and the Red Cross.
