At 3 p.m. today, the skies on the north end of Grand Island turned black and we received a 5 minute blast of hail and icy snow that accumulated in what seemed to be a blink of the eye. As soon as the hail & icy mixture stopped we heard a huge boom of thunder. Immediately following, the sun shown brightly again.
