On September 27, 2009 a Monument to the American GoldStar Mothers was dedicated at the Leonard VFW Post in Cheektowaga, NY. We consider this a great honor and a big step towards educating the public about who we are. Unfortunately we are Mothers who have lost a child while they were serving in our Country's Military Service. We have all realized every mothers greatest fear compounded by being separated from them prior to their death for lengthy periods of time and distance. It is a heart wretching feeling when someone due to lack of knowledge tells you it's wonderful that you are a GoldStar Mother. It has happened to me all too many times. God Bless All Our Children.

Not a day goes by that I don't pray for our Soldiers. To all the Gold Star Mothers I am so sorry for your Loss my heart goes out to each of you. Your sons will never be forgotten. Its our Courageous Soldiers who keep us safe to enjoy our Freedom!
