These pictures are of walnut creek that is next to my grandmothers house in Forestville NY . Forestville received over 4inchs of rain in less than an hour on Aug 9,2009. That eveing she was playing a game of cards with a friend and it was storming outside and then the electric went out. They heard the cracking of something that sounded like falling trees so they went to check my grandmother stood on the poarch while her friend went to check out what the cracking was he thought it was trees what he saw was a wall of water. The creek is 30 to 40 feet from the house! She lost 25 to 30 feet of her lawn along with many trees she is lucky her house did not flood! The last time it flooded was when her father was allive,she will be 84 next week so it has been along time!
This is the pile of debris that is left in the creek next to my grandmothers from the flash flood she lives in Forestville NY.
