An uprooted tree falls on a house on Main Street in Springville

Massive storm hits Springville, NY

August 9, 2009: A huge storm cell swept through the village of Springville, NY today taking out power lines and flooding areas. Numerous trees were seen down in the village today as route 39 was closed this afternoon due to fallen trees. On Main Street in Springville, mammoth trees were seen uprooted--one falling on a home across from Bertrand Chaffee Hospital. Lots of cleanup is expected and thousands of dollars of damage was done. Witnesses to the storm state that they saw a funnel cloud forming nearbye.
