We didn't name our Border Collie Wolfie. That's the name he came to us with. We bought him from our niece, April. Since April is deaf from birth, she named him Wolfie because it was easiest for a Deaf person to pronounce.
When Wolfie started to watch Animal Planet on tv, we thought nothing of it. We tivo'd all his favorite shows, and had a lot of fun observing him. But then the story became darker! Every time we wanted to watch Masterpiece Theater or The History Channel International, he'd begin to make a huge fuss----he demanded that we put on Animal Channel. We figured that we'd solved this little problem when we set up his own little tv next to ours. While we watched our favorite shows, Wolfie would watch Animal Planet on tivo. Problem solved? Not quite! After a while, Wolfie noticed that Animal Planet played some very repetitious commercials-----not good for an intelligent dog like Wolfie. So he began to demand that we advance the Tivo past the commericals every time they came on. What a monster he'd become!
Since I had been playing Wolfenstein 3D, a game on the computer, and had been running The Curse of Frankenstein movie on DVD, it occurred to me to connect the 3 things. We had the Wolfenstein Monster haunting us!
This is a true account, but not really as bad as I described. We love our champion, genius Border Collie and are endlessly amazed by his human-like behavior. There is nothing we wouldn't do for the little guy.
Help! We created a monster !
